Terms

The few rules for using Streams Reader, in plain words.

Last updated 30 October 2026.

Using Streams Reader

Streams Reader is a free service for listening to text. You need an account, and while we start out accounts are by invitation.

Use it lawfully and don’t try to break, overload or get around its limits.

Your content

What you add stays yours. Only add content you have the right to use, and keep listening to it personal.

We store and process your content only to read it to you, as described in the privacy policy.

Voices

Make a voice only from your own recordings, or with clear permission from the person speaking.

Don’t use any voice to deceive, impersonate, harass or commit fraud. We remove voices used this way.

Fair use

Expressive voices share a daily budget. We may limit use that takes much more than a fair share, so everyone keeps access.

Open source

The code is released under the MIT licence on GitHub. The voice models keep their own licences, listed on the credits page.

No guarantees

The service is provided as it is, without warranties. It may change, pause or stop, and voices can mispronounce or misread text.

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses from using it.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will show the date at the top. Questions go to help@streams.watch.
